This is an inside or outside finish that needs no clear coat protection. When you see pictures of Italian Villas and the inside of churches, this is probably what you are seeing. The finish starts with a true lime plaster mixed with quartz sand for a very durable base. Then a special type of primer and finisher are applied that stains the plaster giving it a soft, mottled appearance. It is even aerosol graffiti resistant! Extremely durable and scrubbable with a nylon brush. Great for hiding minor drywall imperfections.
